Position Title: Website Content Administrator
A leading online retailer in Nigeria, promising to define how and where Nigerians shop online, is seeking to fill the position of a Content Administrator with strong graphics experience.
Job Description:
This role will include generating ideas for creating compelling product merchandising displays, graphics, rich content/images and writing call to action copies.
The Website Content Administrator would work with our business team to continuously improve our site and backend processes including merchandising, branding and marketing, payment, and order fulfillment. He/she will be responsible for creating content to enhance site attractiveness, increase traffic to the website and ensure that the site is kept clean and fresh for improved conversion.
Primary duties will involve updating the site; designing website templates, promotional displays, logos and animations; and ensuring that site functionality exceeds industry standards.
Responsibilities:
* Producing visual solutions, using a mix of creative skills and commercial awareness suitable to company’s merchandising needs
* Working with team members to deliver interactive, rich and user-friendly content and to develop engaging ways to use social media
* Creating designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of merchandising principles, and aesthetic concepts to attract high levels of traffic to the site
* Ensuring content is produced daily, delivered on time and that all copy is sharply focused, interesting, jargon free, clear, well-structured and SEO friendly
General Requirements
- Experience in an online environment, and excellent graphics design, website management and copywriting skills, in addition to having the ability to produce quick turnaround on content.
- Strong appreciation for the online content market, experience working with CMS, and adequate knowledge of HTML and XML.
- Sociable, creative and innovative; very keen to further develop skills and career in a fast growing organization.
- Proven ability to deliver incredible user experiences, working with designers and cross-functional business team
- Excellent writing and editing skills, ability to learn fast, and strong call-to-action copywriting and editing skills
- Ability to work in a team
Skill-set:
The applicant should have working experience of the following technologies/platforms:
- Graphics (a portfolio of graphics work would be highly essential)
- Flash (essential)
- Actionscript (desirable)
- Fireworks/Photosuite (must be very comfortable with graphic design software)
- HTML (desirable)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in fine art or equivalent discipline from a reputable institution
- Relevant 2-3 years industry experience and very good knowledge of social media
- Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques with strong passion for quality and technical details
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings.
- Proficiency in a wide range of media tools, including photography and computer aided design
